C&J celebrate 20 years with ambitious plans for future

C&J Marine Limited celebrate their 20th birthday this year with a raft of exciting plans for the future and some major investment to ensure they offer customers an enhanced service.

The start of investment in new technology was made a few years ago with the installation of a £70,000 automated cutting table, offering customers a faster turnaround and improved accuracy when cutting out canopies from patterns.

The already installed 2D digital pattern software enables old and new patterns to be filed onto the computer system, meaning recovers/replacements/remakes will be faster and easier to produce.

2009 has already seen C&J Marine investing and upgrading their computer-aided design service to a 3-D version. Customers will be able to see what the products will look like before they buy, view in colour to see the aesthetic views, the effects every canopy will give and the protection they will offer.

To ensure C&J Marine move with the times they will also be introducing digital measuring and digital pattern recognition software, so that with information supplied by the customer, our special software can accurately calculate the exact size of product needed in a fraction of the time and any new patterns will be filed on our computer systems, meaning remakes will be faster and easier to produce.

A dedicated quality inspection process and packaging service was also introduced last year to great acclaim - meaning higher quality products despatched faster.

Although C&J are moving with the times everything is made on-site and they are proud to continue to produce such high quality British made goods.

Blinding Rolls Royce deal

As part of C&J Marine Limited's new Architectural Manufacturing Processes and blind-making operation, the company clinched a much-sought after contract supplying three vast roof blinds to the prestigious Rolls Royce factory at Goodwood.

Using more than 120 metres of specially woven fire-retardant fabric, the blinds will ensure that the factory and its staff have years of protection.

C&J's team of experienced staff worked around the clock and at weekends to ensure that the Rolls Royce operation was not interrupted - now that's customer service!

This completed project can be added to the ever growing portfolio of Architectural Manufacturing Processes now underway at C&J's recently refurbished 10,000 square feet factory premises in Chichester.

Chute into summer
